Context note: In August 2025, a change was announced for the thematic display area near the entrance of the library. The new display initiative focused on display collaborations and intentional exhibits that highlight the intersection of academic affairs and student life.
The newest library display collaboration is with Professors Michael Largent and Emily Bassett of Graphic Arts Technology! This display showcases the Graphic Design students’ Capstone portfolios, including award winners at the American Advertising Awards (ADDYs). ADDY is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, attracting more than 25,000 entries every year. The mission of the American Advertising Awards is to recognize and reward the creative spirit of excellence in the art of advertising (American Advertising Federation, aaf.org).The display shows the ADDYs awarded to ChattState students, books about graphic design, branding, and more. Student portfolios and submissions can also be viewed.And the very distinguished ADDY awards can be seen.
