Announcing the 1st Annual Edible Book Festival

Feeling creative? Love literature? Register today for the library's 1st Annual Edible Book Festival! Edible Book Festivals are held across the globe on April 1st in honor of French gourmet, Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin's birthday. Contestants bake, cook, or creatively arrange food to look like books, characters, or puns on titles.

Green Eggs and Ham  by Dr. Seuss

Holes by Louis Sachar

The Life of Pi by Yann Martel

Harry Potter by JK Rowling

"Ezra Pound Cake"

So, if you fancy yourself a creative baker (or at least willing to give a try!) register your literary inspired creation by March 29th! On the day of the event, drop off is from 10 AM - 1 PM in the library. Viewing and voting begins at 1 PM, winners are announced at 2 PM, and then bystanders and participants get to eat the entries!

Need a little inspiration? Take a look at the Edible Book Festival guide for pictures, guidelines, registration forms, and contact information if you have questions.

Not interested in entering the competition but you are interested in eating cake? That's fine by us! Just drop by from 1 PM - 3 PM to vote on and sample your favorite entries.
