Farewell Interview with Aaron McDowell

Aaron reporting on the Edible Book Festival
On the one hand, we're sad to see Aaron McDowell leave, but we're also happy that she'll be transferring to UTC this year to complete her degree in English. In addition to putting those writing skills to use penning an article about the Edible Book Festival for Chattanooga State's school paper, The Communicator, she's worked many evenings and weekends at the library helping people with their technology questions.

1. How long have you worked at the library and what was your favorite part of the job?
Since the beginning of last semester, my favorite parts of the job are my co-workers and my bosses! You guys are awesome!

2. What’s the greatest lesson or skill you've learned while working as a student assistant?
Since becoming a student assistant I have gained patience and learned how to better help teach people to do things like saving documents or fixing Word documents when they go crazy.

3. What advice do you have for students interested in working in the library?
Anyone interested in working at the library should go turn in an application because it's a wonderful opportunity that they won't regret.

4. What are your plans now that you’re leaving Chattanooga State?
I'm going to UTC to get a B.A. degree in English.

We are still accepting applications for student assistants. Swing by the Public Services desk and ask for an application.
