"A poem is a gesture toward home." Jericho Brown

Jericho Brown Poetry Discussion

All students, faculty and staff are invited to join a virtual poetry discussion group sponsored by the Library and Writers@Work! We will be reading and discussing poems from this year’s Writers@Work selection The Tradition by Pulitzer Prize winner Jericho Brown. We will meet twice as a group before meeting with the poet himself during Writers@Work week.

If you are interested, fill out this form to be added to the group in Microsoft Teams.

Virtual meeting times:

First meeting: Wednesday, 2/24 at 1:30

Second meeting: Wednesday, 3/17 at 1:30

Live with Jericho Brown: Wednesday, 3/31 at 1:30

Access an ebook copy of the Tradition here. Many of his poems are also available online. Links to the poems and virtual meetings will be posted in Microsoft Teams.

We are also inviting members of the ChattState community to create works of art based on “The Tradition.” Any form of creative expression is welcome! These will be shared with Jericho Brown during the live session on March 31. More information coming soon!

Your Library Loves You Week

In pre-pandemic times, ChattState Library invited students to share how their library has helped or impacted them during their time at the college. This year, the library will be sharing why we love our students February 15-19! Enjoy our library quiz and pictures of throwback I Love My Library events on our social media. Follow us on Facebook @chattstatelibrary, on Instagram @chattstatelibrary, and on Twitter @ChattStLibrary. We miss seeing all of you in the library, but we are available virtually and by appointment!
