"Toon" into the Library and visit with Bruce Plante, the Chattanooga Times Free Press' editorial cartoonist. Visit with a selected number of Mr. Plante's cartoons and record your personal observations in a journal. The cartoons, journal and related books can be found on the short bookshelf in the library.

Bruce Plante has been drawing since the second grade. He has been providing illustrated commentary for the Chattanooga Times Free Press since1985 and has drawn over 5,000 cartoons. In 2003, Mr. Plante received first place and honorable mention in the Fischetti Award, named after the Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist John Fischetti.

The framed cartoons are part of a collection loaned to the library by Jed Mescon, Channel 3 Eyewitness News Today co-anchor and adjunct instructor here at Chattanooga State.
