Jaycee Giles |
Jaycee Giles is one of our library assistants on the Public Services team. Our library assistants help out with the library's service desk schedule and much more! Jaycee is the person to talk to for interlibrary loans; i.e., she's the person tracking down all those resources that you need from other libraries! We were able to ask Jaycee some not so frequently asked questions!
1. What advice do you have for students?
Don’t procrastinate. Trust me, it’s better to get all your projects, papers, and homework over with so that you will have more time for studying.
2. What’s your favorite holiday?
Wholeheartedly, it's Halloween. I adore everything about Halloween. I love the weather, dressing up, watching horror movies, and honestly, the whole aesthetic/vibe of it.
3. Coffee, tea, or soda?
As much as I love coffee, I must choose tea because it’s so versatile. I drink caffeinated tea in the morning and sip herbal tea at night.
4. Favorite cartoon?
To this day, it would have to be my favorite childhood cartoon: SpongeBob. I have a DVD box set collection of SpongeBob.
5. What is the last movie you went to see?
The last movie I saw at the theater was Nosferatu on Christmas weekend. I’m a huge Robert Eggers fan. As for the most recent movie I’ve watched, it was Taika Waititi’s delightful film Hunt for the Wilderpeople, which is available in the library database Kanopy Core Collection.
6. What was your favorite class in college?
My favorite class was an English Literature novel study of The Lord of the Rings. I was ecstatic to take a class on my favorite films and novel trilogy.
7. Top 5 bands?
My top 5 includes a couple of solo artists. They are Rammstein, Wardruna, David Bowie, Oingo Boingo, and lastly, the incredible Tom Waits.
8. What's one book everyone should read?
Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë.
9. Early bird or night owl?
I am a night owl. I have the most energy at night. I used to do schoolwork well after midnight, and now I stay up late almost every night catching up on my endless list of to-watch films.
10. What is your favorite food?
Mediterranean food! I love Greek and Italian cuisine, and I’ve been cooking more homemade Mediterranean dishes lately.
