National Library Week 2022 - Connect with your Library

National Library Week is an annual celebration highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities. National Library Week is April 3 - 9.

The theme for National Library Week 2022, “Connect with Your Library,” promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology by using broadband, computers, and other resources. Libraries also offer opportunities to connect with media, programs, ideas, and classes—in addition to books. Most importantly libraries also connect communities to each other.

The Kolwyck Library is live online at library.chattanoogastate.edu  through chat, email, phone, library instruction, and one-on-one reference help. Connect with the library in person or online! We are here to provide connections to your academic success!

We celebrate our KLIC staff. We celebrate our libraries in this area and their staffs. We celebrate the value of libraries in the global community. Because libraries are always here for you.

During this year's National Library Week, KLIC will host Pancakes and Pajamas Late Night at the Library! This event will be Wednesday, April 6th starting at 5 pm. Find research help, goal setting board, snacks until 10 pm!  Student Life will have a pancake bar.  Connect with your college library during Late Night at the Library!

During the last Late Night at the Library, the puzzle cozy cats was started and was completed recently. Get your research done, have fun, and be connected with your library during Late Night at the Library!

A quote from this year's American Library Association National Library Week honorary chair, Molly Shannon:

DID YOU KNOW?
The Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, with more than 167 million items on approximately 838 miles of bookshelves, which would span roughly the distance from The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., to Cape Canaveral, Florida.

A growing body of evidence suggests that students’ academic success is linked to library usage, including improved student retention and an enhanced academic experience.
