Letter from the Dean: National Library Workers Day

Today is National Library Workers’ Day… a day to celebrate the outstanding work of librarians and library staff throughout the country.  Today, I celebrate the hard working, brilliant librarians and library staff members of Kolwyck Library & Information Commons (KLIC).

I thank our staff for their resilience during the pandemic.  Our librarians and staff were able to turn on a dime to provide quality services and assistance in uncertain times.  Throughout this year, we have taught course integrated library instruction classes, provided research and technology assistance virtually, hosted virtual events throughout the year including a successful book club event with poet Jericho Brown, provided access on ground to students needing to use computers to attend classes and to print documents, and added new digital collections and databases to meet the virtual needs of our faculty and students.  For these things and many others, I say thank you!

I hope that you will join me in recognizing the outstanding work of your librarians and staff!  Take a moment to reach out to them and thank them for all they do!

Thank you from a grateful dean,
Susan Jennings (Pronouns: She, Her, Hers)
Dean of Library Services
Chattanooga State Community College
