Virtual Annual Edible Book Festival

By Andy Foskey

The Kolwyck Library & Information Commons will be hosting its Annual Edible Book Festival a little differently this year. Like so many other things lately, we’re going virtual!  The concept is the same: create an edible display based on a book.  These days, baking supplies can be hard to come by, so just make sure at least some part of your entry is edible. The festival is open to Chattanooga State employees and students only.

Our guest judge for the contest will be the Writers@Work author-in-residence Daniel Wallace, author of Big Fish. He will decide the Author’s Choice Award winner.  All other voting will be done via “likes” via the library’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.  We will have an overall winner, and a runner up this year.

How to Vote on Entries

Go to the Chattanooga State Library Facebook page or Instagram account to view the entries and vote starting the afternoon of Friday, September 18.  Winners will be announced on Facebook Live at noon on Wednesday, September 23.

How to Submit Entries

The Edible Book Festival encourages entrants to create an edible entry inspired by a book. Inspiration could be a chapter, a concept, or even the cover of a book. For inspiration, visit the Edible Book Festival site at library.chattanoogastate.edu/EBF

Send a photograph of your entry, along with the name of the book, to andrew.foskey@chattanoogastate.edu by noon on Friday, September 18.

Thank you to our co-sponsor ChattState's Writers@Work!
