Poem in Your Pocket Day -- National Poetry Month -- Poetry is best when shared

Poem in Your Pocket Day 2019 is on April 18 and is part of National Poetry Month. On this day, select a poem, carry it with you, and share it with others at schools, bookstores, libraries, parks, workplaces, street corners, and on social media using the hashtag #pocketpoem.

Poetry is best when shared, and Poem in Your Pocket Day is the perfect time to surprise someone with the gift of poetry.

Visit the Poem in Your Pocket Day website. On this website you can download the Poem in Your Pocket Day free guide to help celebrate in your school, community, or business. Plus, there are poems in the guide that can be printed.

Another poetry sharing idea is to promote the Chattanooga State Phoenix. The 2019 issue was released on April 17. Plus, check out the back issues of the Phoenix and read/share some poetry from Chatt State alumni or even current staff and faculty who contributed in the past.

More Ways to Participate
It’s easy to carry a poem, share a poem, or start your own Poem in Your Pocket Day event. Here are some ideas of how you might get involved:
