Closed August 30 - September 1 for the Labor Day Holiday

After the first week of the 2014 fall semester classes here at Chatt State: students, faculty and staff receive a nice, long weekend with the Labor Day holiday.  Enjoy the holiday weekend! The library will be closed Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1. Normal hours return on Tuesday, September 2nd.

The Labor Day holiday has now become the signal that the summer season is nearing the end and the beginning of football season.

But Labor Day had its beginnings in the late 1800s and was originally a day to celebrate the American worker. Labor unions were among the early supporters of a Labor Day holiday. In 1894, Congress made Labor Day an official holiday.
